Never judge a book by its cover … opening the front door and entering Little Fox Cottage is a voyage of luxury discovery. Whilst the building’s sturdy exposed-stone walls hint at its 200-year-old past and lend it a rare feeling of longevity and trust, the interior would not look out of place on the cover of a glossy Lifestyle magazine. It’s out and out 5-star luxury all the way, a perfect love nest for two, or a stunning base from which to spoil the family as you explore Pembrokeshire’ s fifty-eight beaches from.

The welcoming hallway sets the tone, with comfy seating by the double sided wood burning stove, or you could indulge in a good book by the fire on the sumptuous leather sofas in the open plan lounge diner. The perfect spot for entertaining or gathering with friends and family after a day on the Coast path. The spacious and glamourous contemporary kitchen complete with leather backed high stools, opens out through full width bi-fold doors onto a breath taking split level outdoor entertainment area.

The carefully thought out space offers privacy and luxury. There’s warm red cedar decking with a luxurious dining set, a built in barbeque and wood fired pizza oven, state of the art music and atmospheric lighting systems, a heated outdoor shower and an opulent 12ft sunken spa tub heated to a toasty 40 degrees all year round. It’s difficult not to unwind here.

Upstairs continues the no expense spared treatment with huge super king beds in two of the three bedrooms, modern en-suites with monsoon walk in showers, high thread count linen, a calming wood and neutral shades colour palette. The addition of some thoughtful little extras like branded bathrobes, the fluffiest of white towels, designer toiletries, flat screen 3D HD blue ray players and TVs, romantic mood lighting in the double ended bath tub, and sparkling chrome heated towels rails give the cottage an exclusive feel that many boutique independent hotels would be proud of.

Sandy Haven is the closest of loads of nearby Blue Flag beaches, where the Coastal Path crosses the beach via stepping stones only accessible for 2 hours either side of low tide. Take the little boat from Martins Haven to visit Skomer Island and see the Puffins – a must do for any holiday, while Little Haven with its picturesque cove, top pubs and a choice of restaurants is about 10 minutes away. There’s plenty to do in this stunning part of West Wales … assuming, of course, you can tear yourself away from the cossetting luxury that is Little Fox Cottage.
