When we talk about Rare Hideaways we really do mean Rare, but Waterwynch is much more than just ‘rare’. It’s unique, and everyone should gather their friends and family, and go experience it. Waterwynch is luxurious but not austere, it’s sophisticated but not stuffy, it’s well-off but not well-to-do, it’s stimulating and yet it’s soothing. This expansive and historic holiday beach house offers much more than just 11 gorgeous en-suite bedrooms. The meandering private drive down to the house builds expectation of somewhere genuinely special, but we are confident your expectations will be blown away. Cradled between the cliffs of Waterwynch Bay, between tourist and gourmet honey pots of Saundersfoot and Tenby, nestled in ten manicured acres of beautiful gardens, lawns, mature woodland and the secluded beach.

The house has the highest quality interior design and cossetting finishes, but with welcoming personal touches. Waterwynch welcomes you through the double height Great Hall with its cheeky sense of humour, and hints at the spectacular sea views as you arrive. It’s immediately hard not to kick back and tune in to the sound of the waves and the ever-moving shingle (I wouldn’t say it was shingle – it’s stones then sand) beach, the soothing sense of place, and focus on spending time with people that matter.

It’s the perfect place to mark significant birthdays, it could easily swallow up five or six extended families without tripping over one another, but smaller groups would not feel lost here. A celebration of abundance, no detail has been overlooked and you can enjoy everything from lounging in the sun listening to the waves and the stream, old school games on the lawn, bubbly in the sumptuous Great Hall or fine dining with sea views.

There’s the gloriously elegant light-filled Sky Room, complete with a grand piano, which opens out on to the spacious terrace to take in the towering cliffs, beach and restless ocean. The chic-but-not shabby Dining Room, which easily seats 28 and is connected to one of the two kitchens, the magnificent Billiard Room and its cosy Bar with fabulous wood burning stove, and the tech filled teenagers dream Den complete the line up on this floor.

Most of the individually styled and indulgent bedrooms embrace the stones throw view of the sea, but if you can drag yourself away, there’s so much more to do. The Waterwynch experience almost forces you to slow down and just hang out, the amazing Arts and Craft studio will entertain kids and budding Monets for days, the Music Studio has everything you need for ‘putting the band back together’, and there’s a full PA and headphones to keep the peace. There are quiet and comfy sun traps all around the house, ideal for a novel and snooze, the short stroll along the beach to Tenby or Saundersfoot is unforgettable, but for the more energetic, and if you don’t want to use the smart Fitness Suite to work out, there’s a permanent outdoor table tennis table. Dare we say it, there’s even a fully equipped Office Suite if you absolutely insist on staying in touch with the outside world … although we know we wouldn’t. Elegance and luxury really do go hand in hand here.
