2018 marks the Year of the Sea in Wales, with a celebration of the nation’s outstanding coastline that invites visitors to experience the epic adventures that are possible on our shores.
A number of attractions and special events are set to take place over the course of the year. The intention is to celebrate the epic coast of Wales, and make the country a standout destination within the United Kingdom for this year. We at Rare Hideaways are only too happy to take part in this incredible event.
 
Visit Wales has an ambitious marketing campaign for the 2018 Year of the Sea, with four seasonal themes that will run in different stages of the year. Epic Seascapes is the theme of January through to the end of March, with Coastal Capital and Communities running from April through June; Coasts Alive from July through September, and finally, Connected Coast from October through to the end of the year.

Coastal adventures with Rare Hideaways

The Rare Hideaways collection is able to offer a number of ways in which tourists can take in the Year of the Sea events throughout the year, in style and comfort, on the coast of Wales. It includes properties located close to the Coastal Path.
 
The Coastal Path was opened back in 2012 as a way to allow everybody to have the chance to experience the amazing Welsh coastline, which runs for more than 750 miles. The Coastal Path is a truly spectacular feature of the Welsh landscape and numerous Rare Hideaways are located within a very short distance of it. We have a number of self catering accommodation facilities located in Aberystwyth, Holywell, Cardigan, Hay-on-Wye, Llangollen, St Davids, Welshpool, Harlech, Langland Bay, Tywyn, Talybont, Gower, Saundersfoot, and many more areas besides.
