Llanfendigaid Estate

This magnificent stone-built house is perfect for large groups, with 9 bedrooms sleeping up to 17 guests. Set in an acre of beautiful wooded gardens and surrounded by a further three acres of shared grounds and scenic farmland, this property is ideal for a countryside break. There are also three more intimate cottages on the grounds.

The spacious and warm rooms allow for a variety of family bonding activities, such as cosying up next to the woodburning stoves in the reception rooms to watch movies, or preparing a grand dinner in the impressive fully-equipped kitchen, ready to be enjoyed in the stately dining room. Guests also have access to the indoor heated swimming pool – the perfect cure to sore muscles after exploring the countryside!

Portmeirion Cottages

Portmeirion is one of those must-visit places on the tick list of every true traveller. The village allows you to become immersed in the unique atmosphere and architecture of this Italianate village, created by iconoclast Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.

The Cottages, 13 in all, are scattered around the village, so you might find yourself next to the gateway, or on a cliff, or close to the concrete boat – one of many delightful Clough follies – anchored to the quayside and going nowhere. This being Portmeirion, all are one-offs rich in individual detail and personality. And, as you’d expect, they are quirky and utterly endearing.

White Beach Cottage

This 5-Star rated property is just a few hundred metres from the stunning White Beach Cove, one of Anglesey’s loveliest beaches. Originally a quarry worker’s home, this cottage can simply be described as stunning. Set in a picturesque and tranquil location, it has been fully and luxuriously refurbished with a rare attention to detail.

With two extensions and a conservatory, White Beach Cottage sleeps five in two double bedrooms and a ‘Crog Loft’ accessed by steep stairs, with a single bed. Quality mattresses, the finest linen and duvets, luxury towels and bathrobes are a feature of in all the bedrooms.

Outside there are immaculate gardens, patio furniture and a barbecue, plus a large spa hot tub, perfect for sitting out under the stars! The sitting room has a range fireplace for roaring winter fires and the superbly equipped kitchen even comes with an espresso/cappuccino machine as well as a dishwasher. The conservatory has underfloor heating, and there is a washer drier for laundry.

Little Fox Cottage

Parc-yr-Hebog Cottages

Parc-yr-Hebog Cottages consists of two properties and is based on a working smallholding with its own prize flock of sheep. But banish all thoughts of muddy wellies – this hideaway has been fastidiously and fashionably restored.

The Barn, sleeping four, is described as offering ‘Scandinavian style with a Welsh twist’. It features unique interiors by a leading Welsh designer, iconic Melin Tregwynt soft furnishings and an arresting palate of bold and soft colours. Patio doors open onto a private balcony with farm and mountain views.

The Cottage, sleeping two, has the same mix of local and cosmopolitan design cues, with a lounge-diner overlooking the Cambrian Mountains and a private patio. It’s the perfect place for couples looking for a romantic break.

Troedyrhiw

These cottages are former derelict farm buildings, sympathetically transformed into five immaculate cottages sitting side-by-side around a courtyard. As much of the original character, stone walls and timber, have been retained.

Between the five cottages, they offer almost all permutations of size, from the one-bedroomed Coach House sleeping two to the four-bedroomed Granary sleeping eight. Troedyrhiw is also ideal for larger groups – if you are planning a reunion or special gathering it can accommodate up to 23 people in total.

The plot is surrounded by well-kept lawns, located in an idyllic wooded valley at the end of a road half a mile long with no through traffic. It’s also a 13-acre smallholding, including miniature Shetland ponies, pigs, ducks and chickens, making it a very child-friendly break.

Tŷ Mawr Collection

The Ty Mawr Cottage Collection comprises 5 unique self-catering cottages, all luxuriously cosy and tastefully decorated. Set in the grounds of Ty Mawr, a Grade 2 * Georgian Mansion in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, these delightful cottages are perfect for the wintery outdoors or to curl up in front of the roaring log burners. Each cottage is suitable for a loved-up couple, or bring your friends and family along for your own private collection of cottages, sleeping up to 10 guests.

The Bothy has a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining table that can extend to accommodate 6 people, all on top of underfloor heating that keeps the cottage warm on those cold nights. The cosy sitting room has a wood-burning stove with free kindling and wood supply, so you definitely won’t catch a chill! The first bedroom has a super-king sleigh bed, very suitable for a Christmas getaway.

The Cottage has an open-plan sitting room with a large, relaxing sofa surrounding a wood-burning stove. The granite kitchen is a pleasant environment to prepare the perfect family meal.

The Coach is a contemporary cottage with light flooding through the large French windows and deer skins on the oak flooring, giving a real sense of decadence. The real seller for this cottage is the sumptuous bathroom with a double-ended bath, walk-in shower and double sinks – perfect for sharing.

The Dairy is a pretty, cosy cottage with exposed timbers and warm tones. The cobbled courtyard leads you through the private covered entranceway into an open-plan living area with underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove comfortable seating.

The Laundry is full of character and unique charm. The contemporary open-plan living space features a freestanding wood burner and a large L shaped sofa, perfect for those evening game nights.

Brig y Don is a five-star holiday cottage furnished to the highest standards of comfort, and thoughtfully designed to offer spacious living. It has a private driveway for 4 cars and sleeps up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. The open plan living space is surrounded by unbroken panoramic views, sat in a spectacular clifftop location.

The cottage is available all year and has the comfort of underfloor heating and a real fire. The house makes a great base for those family occasions in and out of season. The large 12 seater dining table makes the occasion both comfortable and sociable. It is well equipped and the huge double oven range and accompanying American style fridge freezer makes catering for a crowd a pleasure.

The sheltered back garden is accessed by the French doors from the dining room onto a sunny terrace and lawns, including an enclosed family-friendly garden.

Cae Bach

This romantic cottage has been lovingly converted from stables using environmentally friendly, natural materials. The traditional Welsh slate floor has cosy underfloor heating plus a log stove to ensure you are snug all throughout the colder months.

Situated in a private location, high on a hill above Aberystwyth, the cottage boasts breathtaking, cinematic views across Cardigan Bay – Imagine waking up to that in the morning! Despite its rurality, the cottage is only a short walk from the nearest town.

Bwlch Cliced

This cottage stands on a small working farm, but what really grand the attention is the widescreen sea and mountain views over the Dyfi Estuary, where green hills slide into the waters of Cardigan Bay. On a clear day, you’ll see as far as Snowdonia’s mighty Cader Idris and the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. Be sure to pack your binoculars to look out for red kites and ospreys, as Bwlch Cliced is surrounded by a wealth of local walks and wildlife.

Once a workday barn, this hideaway has been contemporarily converted to a cool, clean and comfy design, a complete juxtaposition to its stone wall and slate roof exterior. Not forgetting the complimentary tea and cakes!

Ysgubor Cottage

This spacious, immaculately maintained cottage is nestled in untouched Cambrian Mountain countryside an enjoyable stroll from the bustling town of Tregaron. A stylish and contemporary stone barn with a ‘get away from it all’ secluded garden, surrounded by lush pasture and proper mountains.

Picture postcard, ever-changing views of the Ystwyth valley are available from every room, but they are best framed by the floor to ceiling glazing in the mezzanine lounge with a cuppa and a camera.

The three contemporary bedrooms include the quirky but cosy loft twin and the downstairs master has its own patio doors to a secluded terrace overlooking the woolly neighbours in the field next door.  Perfect for an alfresco springtime breakfast or a long summer’s evening BBQ.

Stangwrach Holiday Cottages

Nothing has been compromised with these cottages, and they are supremely comfortable, yet meticulously designed to make them fully accessible for a wide range of disabilities, ideal for a multi-generational get-together, or perhaps a respite break for those of us who might be slightly less mobile.

Both Stangwrach and Ash Tree have well-designed wet rooms with overhead showers, step-free access, space for walking aids and discreet grab rails for example, but still maintain high-end quality and contemporary interiors. The Stangwrach cottage hunkers down into a Welsh hillside in the undiscovered Towy valley, surrounded by jackpot views and striking gardens. The attached barn has been converted into a cosy cottage whilst still maintaining its character, Gardeners Cottage is great for two adults and is an ideal place for a short break.

There’s room to breathe, space for the kids to let off steam, and we love the terraced garden, complete with ramped access and paths, a dreamy spot for grownups to waste a few blissful hours in.  Around every secluded corner, hidden garden furniture is dotted about the grounds, there to be discovered, and lose another hour. There is a two-acre field, great for a kick about, or a limited-overs game of family cricket.

Penmachno Hall & The Coach House

Penmachno, an oasis of tranquillity, is set in a village of calm and convenience. The former rectory is dashingly renovated in chic country style to suit the surrounding 2 1/2 acres of gardens. The brand new warmly decorated suite consists of an airy open plan lounge diner, with a small kitchenette and two gorgeous en-suite bedrooms, with all those little luxuries.

The secluded two-bedroom Coach House stands a short distance from the main house. The contemporary interior design sits well with the centuries-old exposed beams, it’s warm, easy-going and congenial: getting away from it all, done exceedingly well. The seductive setting even includes a decadent private hot tub.
