Cefncilwg

Near Llandeilo

Cefncilwg is a traditional farmhouse, with a warm heart, that has moved with the times whilst growing old very gracefully.

Map of South Wales

As an original part of the Taliaris Estate back in the 17th century, its Welsh roots are deep, and its soul imbedded in the stunning Towy valley in which it comfortably sits. Carefully and newly refurbished in 2021 it has been lovingly restored by the dedicated Davies family, we’re sure this real gem will be short of availability soon.

We love a good panorama, and many of our Hideaways are famous for their stunning views but these are the best of the best! Rolling fields, small wooded valleys and an expansive starry sky make Cefncilwg a truly magical place to be. There are spacious lawns, a duck pond, and even a fully equipped kid’s play area. The Shetland ponies and the Alpacas love a bit of fuss as you fire up the BBQ. Soak your troubles away amongst the glorious views in the new, large hot tub and Covana.

The house is generous and flooded with that ethereal mountain light. It can easily accommodate two or three generations or groups of as many as ten friends with their four-legged friends, but its cosy spaces, quiet nooks and peaceful corners make it equally as peaceful and restful or as full of joyous laughter as you make it. The two log burning stoves, together with the ever ready-to-bake Rayburn – always at the heart of any good farming kitchen, make Cefncilwg a very special place to visit during the Autumn and Winter.

Llandeilo, a gentle three mile cycle ride away, is arguably one of the prettiest towns in Wales, and offers bustling independent shops, great pubs, and even hip cocktail bars. The undiscovered wild Carmarthenshire coast is only half an hour’s drive away, with Oakwood theme park, Bluestone and the Blue Lagoon, or Folly Farm providing the thrills for the rest of family.
