Isle of Anglesey
We are always delighted to unearth a genuine 5 Star Rare Hideaway, and this one’s a gem, the clue’s in the name. The Tower, enviably situated on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, close to popular holiday destination, Beaumaris. It’s an unforgettable luxury spa break for two, in an atmospheric and historical setting of the 15th century tower.
Make no mistake though, whilst history surrounds you here, The Tower has been brought respectfully bang up to date. Its snuggled into the private grounds of the stunning Penmarian Manor (home to the equally gorgeous Windmill and The Cottage), and feels, appropriately, like it’s been there for centuries. The Tower has now been carefully and lavishly restored but with more than just a passing nod to the hundreds of years of history that it’s reassuringly substantial stone walls are custodians of. It is quirkily spread across three stories, has its own private suntrap courtyard boasting direct access to the spectacular Wales Coast path. A peaceful spot to unwind with a sundowner to the sound of the walled garden fountains. There is an intimate and romantic first floor double bedroom, with an indulgent en-suite steam and shower room, a modern kitchen on the first floor, flooded with 360-degree light, complete with contemporary Belfast sink, brand new range cooker, and in the cosy ground floor living area, there’s a deep L-shaped squishy sofa, with playful animal print cushions and flat screen TV with the full Sky package. The antique wrought iron half-tester bed is dressed with dreamy linen and a super-comfy duvet. There’s even bathrobes that would make a lot of five star hotels jealous. Uniquely, guests staying at the Tower have exclusive access and use of the boutique warm indoor swimming pool, a choice of Swedish or Infra-Red saunas, a pristine gym and the luxurious hot tub between 12 noon and 8 p.m. and it’s all just a few feet from your door. Beautiful White Beach Cove is just a refreshing twenty-minute saunter away, perfect for ocean swimming, fishing, long evening beach barbecues and messing about in boats. Why not blow the cobwebs away on Red Wharf Bay, a glorious seven-mile-long stretch of golden sands which has a European Blue Flag award, great on foot, but even better on horseback. For larger groups, the equally lovely Tower, The Cottage and the Windmill can all be rented together and can easily accommodate a memorable celebration for up to a dozen.
